Information about our Submarines, page 1 The Seahorse mini-submarine is specially designed for:
* Recreational and commercial underwater explorations
* Affordable price
* Low cost maintenance and easy operation
* All required pilot training provided
* Dry inside cabin with comfortable interior
* Excellent viewing
* Yacht and boat ramp launches, and even from a beach!
Can be operated after only a few hours of training, it is not a wet
or a semi dry submersible, it is watertight with a dry cabin where
passengers can enjoy underwater tours without getting wet.
Its unique design is eye catching and will draw attention and develop
great interest.
The Seahorse is a dry ambient pressure submersible, with an automatic
pressurization system that permanently equalizes the pressure inside
the cabin with the outboard water pressure. Therefore the hull and
the cockpit do not have to resist to differential pressures of the
water.
Passengers breathe fresh air inside the cabin with no need to wear
or use any kind of scuba equipment. An adjustable flow of fresh air
is forced into the cabin and the used air with carbon dioxide is dumped
outboard keeping the inside with normal rates of oxygen. The fresh
air flow rate is 3 times the volume of air inhaled by the passengers.
Ballasts arrangement and hull architecture provide high stability
with impossibility to flip over.
To reduce air consumption, in snorkeling mode a snorkel with a compressor
feeds the cockpit with fresh air from outside instead of from the
tanks.
Buoyancy is set by a buoyancy tank and controlled with a thumb switch
on the control stick. Buoyancy can be adjusted to neutral and smooth
ascents or descents, similar to a fish thus preventing engine thrusts
from displacing sand and sediments when approaching the sea floor.
At intermediate depths, the pilot uses an aircraft type control stick
with steering cables to action engines, compensated dive plan and
rudder.
The dashboard displays all necessary parameters, depth, air and battery
capacity, sonars, dive profile, buoyancy on a video screen
